- Hey all,
-
- I've been using VMM for a long time now... and it's very stable...
- But today I installed FastCache and suddenly my computer isn't very stable
- anymore...
-
- The computer hangs when I execute a BIG application. I know that while
- executing/running, VMM swaps data TO the harddisk and the application needs its
- resources (libs/devs etc.) so some data are loaded FROM the harddisk.
-
- BTW FastCache have READ and WRITE caches.
-
- Perhaps FastCache is trying to cache the data written/read by VMM? I know
- there is something in one of the VMM docs which says: 'It doesn't make much
- sense for a caching program to use VM.' But FastCache doesn't use VM here. I
- disabled FastCache to use VM for code and data... but this doesn't help.
-
- FastCache is caching all volumes using the same device (scsi.device) so I
- can't disable caching on the volume where VMM have its swap-file.
-
- Does anyone have a solution or an other cache utility?
-
- Thanks!
